The Ancora Duo

As The Ancora Duo, Anne Allen and the renowned guitarist Sarah Freestone have been playing together for four years. They are a highly sought after chamber group, performing recitals around the country as well as being in demand for weddings, parties and formal events. Last year they had the great honour of playing for Lord Snowdon's 80th birthday party and were invited to play at The Troubadour Club, a venue made famous in the '60s by musicians such as Jimi Hendrix. This year The Ancora Duo performed a sell out recital with the Romanian Ambassador as special guest.

The Ancora Duo are dedicated to helping raise money for local as well as international charities. This year alone they have helped raise over £20,000 so far.

In 2009 The Ancora Duo were proud to release their first CD together entitled Entrada. MUSICIAN, the magazine of the Musicians' Union, chose The Ancora Duo for their 'In Focus' section of the review pages, p.42 of the Autumn 2009 magazine. Comments included:
